Scrumptious Sundays:Lawn Mower Cupcakes, Cinnamon French Toast Bake, & Avocado Salsa

Ookay.

I hope this makes up for last weeks lack of a Scrumptious Sunday, since I have not just 1.. not just 2.. but I have 3 dishes to show ya!!

So to start off, my lovely work was having a Grass Cut Season Kickoff BBQ. I have to elaborate a little since I haven't mentioned much about my job. I work for an awesome company that works with bank owned homes helping them keep the properties kept up and clean so they can be sold. April 1st starts when we will be getting a lot, and I mean A LOT, of grass cut work orders. I have been wanting to do all I can with my lovely mixer so I decided to make Lawn Mower cupcakes.

I was running short on time so I used box mixes (I know, bad Megan.) I did however, attempt a new frosting from All Recipes. It was a buttercream frosting. The only thing I did different was added green food coloring. I will say this frosting is a thinner frosting so it did not work as well with my frosting grass tip as I would have liked, but I thought it was tasty. After I frosted I assembled my candy (Hersheys Nuggets, Reeses Pieces, and Twizlers) to look like little lawn mowers. Cute, aye?

Next on my list was this delightful breakfast dish I found on from Pillsbury.

This Cinnamon French Toast Bake was absolutely amazing!! I seriously can't wait to make it again. The only thing I didn't add were the nuts and the powdered sugar.
I loved it!!

Last but not least was a last minute toss in of ingredients, which I shall call Avocado Salsa.

My phone camera does not really show the tastiness that this was (since I took a picture when my bowl was nearing empty.) I threw the following into my food processor:
3 roma tomatoes
2 avocados
2 chiles
Some green onions
Cilantro
A few cloves of garlic
And lemon juice

It certainly helped ease my late night hunger.

I hope you all enjoyed this weeks treats!!

I need a bakery..

Okay so this post is long over due.

A couple weeks ago this beauty showed up on my porch.
I'm sure Mr. UPS thought I was crazy because I seriously came running to the door and dancing on the porch as he left.

I had talked my lovely husband into making this purchase.
I told him it would count as an anniversary and birthday gift (way out yonder in the future).
And I'm posting it so I'll have to hold true to it.

It's the KitchenAid Red Professional Mixer!!

I love it!!

Take a gander at it's glory!

Step 1. Mixer.
Step 2..A Bakery??

Have fun folks!!

Scrumptious Sundays:Saucy Asian Meatballs

Like I've previously posted, I have been randomly craving meatballs.

So when I saw a picture on Pinterest I had to look into it.

Gimme Some Oven posted a recipe for Saucy Asian Meatballs that I was mesmerized by. And let me tell you, they were delish! Check out the recipe and take a look at this scrumptious photo!

A little food critics..

So I've concluded that I want to become a food critic.
I love trying out new restaurants.
I'm a definite foodie!

A few we've tried over the last months have been Maxwell's East Coast Eatery, Moochies, and Cantina Southwestern Grill.

Let me tell ya a smidge about them (I may even have some drool-worthy photos).

I'll start with Cantina's only because I sadly do not have photos. Cantina Southwestern Grill in Layton is a tasty mexican style restaurant. They have a salsa bar that I have fallen in love with. My favorites are the avacodo salsa and the mango salsa. They are so flavorful. I am also completely addicted to the beef floutas. They are amazing!

We first heard of Maxwell's on the radio. Thee husby was instantly drawn when he heard the mafia pizza names and wanted to check it out. Maxwell's is a delicious east coast style restaurant in Salt Lake City. They also have a location in Park City but if you know me, you know I LIVE for Salt Lake City. They have pasta, sandwiches, pizza, and a full-service bar. I don't drink so I have nothing to tell you about the barside so don't look to me for that, ha ha. Our first time out, we tried the Donnie Brasco pizza and ohmigoodness was it delicious! It has an alfredo sauce, with mozzarella, provolone and ricotta cheese, drizzled with a balsamic reduction (my fave part!). We added chicken because every man needs meat on his pizza. I seriously could not stop eating. We went back the following weekend because we couldn't stop thinking about that pizza. We ordered on our second visit the Donnie Brasco again AND the Italian Stallion pizza which has pepperoni, Italian sausage, and grilled chicken. Again we were highly impressed and plan on making Maxwell's a regular.

Here's the Donnie Brasco.

Such a beauty!

Here's the Italian Stallion.

Are you drooling yet??

We've been hearing non stop reviews for Moochies in Salt Lake City, and finally got the chance to try it today. They are known for their Philly Cheesesteaks and Meatball sandwiches. Thee husband got the Atomic Meatball sandwich, which had meatballs (obviously!), feta cheese, marinara, and jalepeno sauce. Their meatballs are seriously the size of a large fist. They are huge! I've been having random cravings for meatballs so I half-heartedly followed my husbands order, meaning I am not a fan of the spicy, so I ordered their Handmade Meatball sandwich which is the same as thee hubs except I had provolone cheese and no jalepeno sauce. My mom came along and she tried out the Pizza Steak sandwich, which was sliced steak, marinara, provolone cheese and pepperoni. She thought it was amazing. We all thouroghly enjoyed our trip here and plan to go again soon.

Here's the Atomic Meatball.

Well I hope I made you hungry because it's 11 at night and I am starving!
Not good for the weightloss desiring redhead!

Have a g'night all!
